Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings
Thursday selections from the Curragh, Tramore, Wincanton, Carlisle and more
Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Curragh
12.40: Amortentia
This looks a suitable opportunity for Amortentia (nap) to step up a place following seconds at Leopardstown and Dundalk, both races won by an above-average colt. Paris Lights, a brother to St Mark's Basilica, can improve from his recent debut and may pose a bigger threat than Aidan O'Brien's newcomer Dalmatian Coast, a half-brother to smart juvenile and dual 2,000 Guineas third Ivawood.
Alan Sweetman
Tramore
2.02: Shuil Valentine
Shuil Valentine (nap) looks a probable warm order here for the in-form Kiely stable. She seems to have most to fear from fellow bumper winner Broomfield Hall, who can hurdle.

Wincanton
4.05: Jony Max
A few of these warrant consideration but lightly raced six-year-old Jony Max (nap) went down fighting over 2m4f at Warwick last month and could have significant untapped potential over today's new trip. Course-and-distance winner Legend Of Zorro is only 2lb higher than when collecting a fast-ground chase at Taunton in April and last month's comeback run over hurdles was perfectly respectable. O'Faolains Lad and Dido also have claims.
Chris Wilson
Carlisle
1.23: Bavington Bob
Ann Hamilton looks set to have another excellent season and the progressive six-year-old Bavington Bob (nap) can maintain his unbeaten record in handicaps. Iolani has been in top form at Kelso the last twice and, having also won here, is feared most. The unexposed Hart Of Steel could also go well.
Ben Hutton
Brighton
2.10: Big Bard
To a large degree this revolves around Big Bard (nap), who was a totally different proposition when dropped to sprinting for the first time at Chelmsford last Saturday and can follow up if in similar form. Big Impact's win on the same card at Chelmsford wasn't quite as striking but he did have a bit in hand and is feared most. Lady Amalthea may prove best of the rest.
Andrew Sheret
Chelmsford
8.30: Smart Connection
Having been firmly in charge at Lingfield two weeks ago, Smart Connection (nap) may well go in again. These are still early days for him with Alice Haynes since wind surgery, and he may have more to offer. Among several each-way options, Cayman Moon with another change in headgear is marginally preferred to Zefferino (the 2019 winner of this race), Aiguillette and Kodimoor.
