Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Thursday's tips from Newmarket, Cheltenham, Limerick, Ripon and Newcastle

Cheltenham

2.05: Scholastic

Joseph O'Brien's Scholastic (nap) ran well behind the Boodles winner Jeff Kidder in an Irish Grade 2 last week and she beat that horse in a maiden the last time she ran on genuine good ground. Her Indoors appeared to find the Boodles a bit of a culture shock and can do better, while Progressive can also make her presence felt.
Alistair Jones

Newmarket

3.35: Master Of The Seas

Group 2 Superlative Stakes winner Master Of The Seas (nap) has strong claims on his best two-year-old form and the possible settling effect of a first-time hood could be a big plus for this headstrong sort. He is the selection ahead of stablemate La Barrosa, who looked one to follow when winning the Group 3 Tattersalls Stakes here and can be excused his subsequent defeat on heavy ground. Ballydoyle pair Khartoum and Sandhurst are respected, along with Dewhurst fourth Devilwala, while Akmaam is an interesting each-way candidate.
Ben Hutton

Limerick

2.30: The Cathal Don

The Cathal Don (nap) should be hard to beat. His effort in finishing second at Thurles earlier in the season was a good one and the absence is not a worry given who he is trained by. Living's Boy And Co and War God are the dangers.
Brian Sheerin

Ripon

4.00: Zabeel Champion

Mark Johnston's Zabeel Champion (nap) is likely to build on a good all-weather reappearance second and this prominent racer looks to have plenty going for him. Fishable, who is unbeaten in two starts over course and distance, appeals as one who could progress again this season and can give the selection most to do. Spring Mile fifth Howzer Black should also be in the mix.
Andrew Sheret

Newcastle

7.55: Royal Advice

Laxton Ladd still has the capacity to do better and is considered, while Kats Bob is on a dangerous mark if the hood works the oracle. Royal Advice (nap) has to prove himself at 7f but he's well treated under a penalty and he's certainly bred to stay. He can follow up last week's success.
Paul Smith
