Goodwood Placepot picks: Tom Collins provides his Wednesday afternoon perm
Well-bred newcomers Age Of Sail and Schmilsson will tie up plenty of Placepot tickets in the opening 1m2f maiden (1.15) at Goodwood.
But there's only one I want to be with and that is War Horse, who looks a banker to send you through to leg two after a couple of promising efforts.
The following optional claimer (1.45) is far harder. The most likely winner is the lightly raced Imrahor, who returned from a long absence with a solid third at Newbury. Also include course-and-distance scorer Hortzadar.
Topweight Theotherside should relish the drop into a 0-80 handicap (2.17) and is selected alongside last-time-out winner Some Nightmare.
Hat-trick-seeking Migration is proven at the track and should go close in the feature Listed Foundation Stakes (2.52). Also include King Vega, who gets the three-year-old allowance.
Goolwa and Golden Bugle renew their rivalry after finishing first and fourth respectively at Kempton 51 days ago. They could easily dominate the 1m6f fillies' handicap (3.27).
You could select three or four in the closing 1m1f handicap (4.02) but we will go with two to reduce the lines. The booking of Tom Marquand on Hundred Isles is intriguing, while Fantasy Believer may be worth another chance despite worrying form figures.
