Evening Angles: trainer stats, RPRs and a well-backed Irish raider
Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back tonight based on trainer form, RPRs and, tonight's wild card, a well-backed Irish raider returning from a long break
Trainer form
Kyllang Rock
7.15 Wolverhampton
Angle: trainer James Tate's 50 per cent strike-rate in last fortnight
Newmarket trainer James Tate has celebrated five winners from his last ten runners, recording form figures of 1131258116.
His only runner on Tuesday is the talented Kyllang Rock, who returns from a winter break to contest the feature 5f conditions stakes.
He comes out best at the weights and boasts some strong form, including a defeat of subsequent Nunthorpe hero Alpha Delphini on his return to action at Musselburgh last year.
The five-year-old faces some established all-weather sprinters on his debut on the surface but appears the one to beat.
Ratings
Nooshin
6.45 Wolverhampton
Angle: comes out on top on RPRs
The Charlie Hills-trained Nooshin faces three fillies who won on their last start but they are all penalised and, as a consequence, she comes out on top on weight-adjusted Racing Post Ratings.
Hayley Turner's mount has a weight-adjusted RPR of 94 in this contest, 4lb clear of nearest rival Vivionn, a winner at Lingfield in September.
Nooshin should go close if confirming the promise of her narrow runner-up effort at Kempton last time.
Wild card
Bazzat
6.15 Wolverhampton
Angle: notable market support
An 826-day layoff would be enough to put off the majority of punters but market support suggests a big run is expected from Bazzat.
The six-year-old opened up a 50-1 shot with Betfair Sportsbook and Paddy Power but was backed into as short as 13-2 by midday with the firms.
A three-time winner on the all-weather, Bazzat is on the same mark as his last victory in October 2016 and is a first runner for Donegal-based trainer Charlie Moore since December that year.
