Sevenna Star
John Gosden
2nd, Sandown, September 20
This two-year-old newcomer was unable to reel in the more experienced Kitaabaat in the closing stages, but should they meet again you would fancy Sevenna Star to turn the tables. Still with plenty to do a furlong out, when around four lengths behind the winner, he stormed home when finding top gear to reduce the gap to three-quarters of a length.

Clearly
John Gosden
3rd, Sandown, September 20
If this filly can start getting away on level terms she could soon be winning Listed/Group races. For the third start running her start was untidy, she stood still in the stalls and missed the break badly in this competitive-looking Class 4 handicap. It’s testament to her ability that despite giving others a head start it seemed at one stage as though she might win when making good headway approaching the final furlong. Ultimately she found a couple too good, but had she not used up valuable energy getting herself into contention after her awful start her backers may well have been celebrating.

Jupiter Light
John Gosden
2nd, Sandown, September 20
On this first start since being gelded, this three-year-old produced arguably a career-best to finish runner-up to the improving The Statesman. Connections of Jupiter Light had clearly felt his mind was not always on the job in hand as prior to being gelded he had been tried in blinkers and cheekpieces. The operation seems to have had the desired result as Jupiter Light stuck to the task and pulled five lengths clear of the third. A similar race is within his compass.
