Classy catalogue for Tattersalls Ireland July Sale now online
Final Irish store sale of the season attracts bumper entries
Tattersalls Ireland has released an exceptionally large catalogue for the two day July Store Sale to be held on 13 and 14 July.
Part One takes place on the first day and features 297 lots while Part Two begins with a total of 333 entries.
The sale was introduced just last year but already has provided point-to-point handlers with plenty of incentives to trawl through the catalogue once more having sourced profitable four-year-old maiden winners from the inaugural sale.
Colin Motherway’s Encanto Bruno was purchased for €20,000 before selling for £210,000 to John McConnell Racing after winning his point-to-point impressively at Ballynoe in March. I Will Be Baie was bought by Milestone Stables for €43,000 and resold for £150,000 to Harold Kirk and Willie Mullins.
At the less expensive end of the market, Ballyboy Stables turned €17,000 into £72,000 with Tyrella winner Jet Of Dreams, Harley Dunne's Doyen For Money sold for £75,000 after costing €11,000 while Knockacool Stables purchased Catuaba for €7,200 before selling to Highflyer Bloodstock and Charlie Longsdon for £52,000.
Some of the most popular and successful National Hunt sires are represented in the catalogue with Walk In The Park, who finished last week's Derby Sale at the venue, with the highest aggregate sales for any sire of €2,290,000 leading a strong cast of stallions.
Other leading sires with representatives in the July Store Sale include Milan, Kalanisi, Flemensfirth, Shantou, Sholokhov and Yeats. Up-and-coming stallions such as Workforce, Castle Du Berlais, Hillstar and Jeu St Eloi have offspring in the catalogue.
All horses entered in the July Store Sale are eligible for the Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper, which is held at the Fairyhouse Easter Festival and worth €100,000.
The July Sale is the final store sale of the year in Ireland as there are no plans to hold the Tattersalls Ireland August Sale this year.
