The celebrations at Widden Stud will continue into the early hours of quite a few mornings to come after their new sensation Zoustar was crowned champion first season sire by earnings in Australia on Wednesday, which will be an added boost for his credentials prior to his first shuttle to Tweenhills Stud in 2019.

The son of the late Northern Meteor repaid the faith by breeders, owners, trainers and all at the New South Wales-based stud, finishing the season with a record-breaking A$3,208,694 in progeny earnings provided by his ten winners, who won 18 races between them.

Undoubtedly his most impressive winner was the two-year-old sensation Sunlight, whose victory in the lucrative Magic Millions 2YO Classic helped him draw over A$1.2 million clear of his nearest rival, Spirit Of Boom.
