WinStar Farm confirmed on Thursday that American classic-placed Grade 1 winner Bodemeister has been sold to the Jockey Club of Turkey and will be relocated pending export requirements.

The 10-year-old son of Empire Maker out of the Storm Cat mare Untouched Talent is the fourth stallion based in the US during the northern hemisphere breeding season to be relocated to Turkey for 2020.

In June, owner-breeder Nimet Arif Kurtel acquired Bluegrass Cat and Air Vice Marshal and will stand them at Karacabey Stud. Former Claiborne Farm sire Trappe Shot was sold in August to Lale and Zeynep Atman's Atman Stud near Istanbul.

American-bred expatriate stallion Tizway is part of the Turkish migration, too. He stood at Spendthrift Farm from 2012-17 and then was relocated to South Korea for 2018-19. Kurtel bought Tizway this year and will stand him at Karacabey Stud as well.

Bodemeister already has international credentials from shuttling to Argentina for the 2018-19 southern hemisphere breeding seasons.

He has sired 12 black-type winners worldwide, led by 2017 Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming. Bodemeister has sired three other graded stakes winners: two-time Grade 2 winner American Anthem and Grade 3 winners Yuvetsi and Once On Whiskey.

Bodemeister's 204 winners through October 16 have won 422 races worldwide, and his 350 runners have collectively banked $15,307,785 in purses.
