Whitsbury Manor Stud has unveiled their 2021 fees for their five-strong roster, with Showcasing, responsible for this year's Sussex Stakes hero and new Shadwell stallion Mohaather, leading the way at £45,000.

Ed Harper, director of Whitsbury Manor Stud, said: “Our industry finds itself in uncertain times and it is vital that we act accordingly. We have therefore listened to our clients and chosen to drop the fees of our three highest-priced stallions to offer the best possible value to breeders and keep the wheels turning.”

Showcasing enjoyed another stellar season on the track with Mohaather flying the flag, while Alkumait showed himself another potential top-class horse in the making when winning the Mill Reef Stakes.

Harper added of the son of Oasis Dream: “In any other year you could expect the sire of a champion Sussex Stakes-winning miler such as Mohaather to increase in fee, but we feel this is the right thing to do in the circumstances. Showcasing now has five sons at stud, which is phenomenal from where he started.

"He also enjoyed significant Group-race success this year with Alkumait, Bodhicitta, and Tropbeau, who we hope will all stay in training next season.”

Sergei Prokofiev, the latest recruit to Whitsbury Manor's roster, has been introduced at £6,500. A high-class juvenile, with a win in the Cornwallis Stakes and a close third behind Calyx in the Coventry Stakes, he was a $1,100,000 purchase as a yearling from Keeneland.

Harper said of Sergei Prokofiev: "His turn of foot was exceptional and, as his yearling price of 1.1 million dollars suggests, he has the looks to match.”

Adaay, who has sired 22 individual winners from his first crop this year, will stand again at £5,000, while Due Diligence and Havana Grey have been clipped to £6,000.
