US owner Brody steps in to buy Prix Morny contender Comedy
Comedy will race for new owners in Sunday’s Group 1 Prix Morny after being sold to US owner Marlene Brody in a deal brokered by Eugenio Colombo.
The daughter of Dandy Man, who captured the Group 3 Prix de Cabourg over the Prix Morny course-and-distance last month, will remain with trainer Karl Burke until at least the end of the year.
Colombo told Jour de Galop: "The filly will stay in training at Karl Burke for this season. She is a Group winner, which is very important for her broodmare career, because Ms. Brody took over Gallagher's Farm after the death of her husband.
“The Morny is her first goal and if all goes well, she will be directed to the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Sprint Turf.”

Bought for €22,000 at the Goffs Sportsmans yearling sale in September, Comedy had previously been owned in a partnership between David Redvers, Alastair Donald and Barbara Keller.
