Each time another winner has been punched in by Rajasinghe, Phil Cunningham has been left feeling ever more perplexed.
There has been vindication in the sense that his young stallion has made a striking impression with his first crop of runners, but it is coupled with a growing sense of bewilderment that he was one of the very few people to believe that it might happen.
The victory of the Cunningham-owned and bred Giant at Chelmsford before Christmas took Rajasinghe to an astonishing 80 per cent winners to runners, by far and away the highest strike-rate among his peers in Europe.
