Royal Ascot ambitions for Australia's daughter Oodnadatta after 'slight hiccup'
Coronation-bound filly races in partnership for Bob Scarborough and John Magnier
An Australian-owned filly named after a South Australian outback town is being aimed at a first-up Group 1 tilt at Royal Ascot next month.
Oodnadatta, a daughter of Coolmore Stud stallion Australia, is likely to make her seasonal reappearance in the £350,000 Group 1 Coronation Stakes on June 18.
"She's had a slight hiccup in her campaign, so she missed the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket earlier this month," said her part-owner Bob Scarborough, who races her in partnership with Coolmore's John Magnier.
Scarborough and Magnier own Oodnadatta's dam Bewitched, who has also produced dual stakes winner Pablo Escobarr and promising younger brother Roberto Escobarr, with both sons of Galileo trained by William Haggas.
Oodnadatta is trainer Jessica Harrington's lone entry in the Coronation Stakes, for three-year-old fillies, which has attracted 48 nominations.
Oodnadatta has raced four times for one win and a third, carrying Scarborough's silks, which have featured on past Australian Group 1 winners including Marble Halls, Hit The Roof, Light Fantastic and Sleek Chassis.
