Medaglia D'Oro to stand at $150,000 as Darley trims US fees for 2021
Red-hot first-season sire Nyquist the sole stallion to receive an increase
Darley has announced 2021 covering fees for its US stallions, with all but one of the ten-strong roster set to stand for a reduced tariff during the upcoming breeding season.
Heading the roster is Medaglia D'Oro, sire of 25 top-level winners and 20 million-dollar yearlings since 2016. The 21-year-old son of El Prado will stand at $150,000, down from $200,000 in 2020.
The one Darley US sire to receive a fee increase is first-season sensation Nyquist, whose debut crop includes a brace of Grade 1 winners, namely Spinaway Stakes scorer Vequist and Summer Stakes victor Gretzky The Great.

The son of Uncle Mo earns a rise to $75,000, having been $40,000 during the most recent season.
"These are trying times breeders are facing," said Darley sales manager Darren Fox. "We gave great consideration to this when setting our fees to reflect the economic reality of today."
"Breeders are attempting to navigate a sales environment that is both unpredictable and difficult. Subsequently, all but one of our stallions will see a decrease in stud fee from last year.
"We sincerely appreciate the past support from breeders, and we are looking forward to a better and brighter 2021."
