French basketball legend Tony Parker appears to be involved in a useful juvenile filly, with Mangoustine retaining her unbeaten record in the Listed Criterium de Lyon on Thursday.

Parker, a long-serving point guard in the NBA, has renewed a long-standing interest in racing and his Infinity Nine Horses has a quarter of the daughter of Dark Angel, along with Ecurie des Monceaux, Qatar Racing and Alexandre Giannotti.

Monceaux and Qatar bred Mangoustine along with Lordship Stud and she went through the ring for €46,000 at Arqana last year when knocked down to David Redvers.

Mangoustine is out of the once-raced Zamindar mare Zotilla, who went through the ring after her racing career for €550,000, as she is a half-sister to the French Guineas and Breeders' Cup heroine Flotilla.

She is the only winner from Zotilla's four foals to date, with the mare exported to Britain in 2019.

Trained by Frederic Rossi, Mangoustine was off the mark at Deauville last month and seemed to have plenty in hand in this mile event as she beat dual winner Toimy Son by a length.

A 78th stakes winner for Yeomanstown's Dark Angel, it capped a good afternoon for the grey, who sired debut Listowel winner Dante's Pass and Desert Angel in the nursery at Newmarket.
