How Dubawi's first stakes winner inspired the mating behind the brilliant Adayar

Events of the past have a funny way of resonating through pedigrees of the future, with seemingly unrelated occurrences conspiring to create results of major significance.
In the case of Adayar, the purchase of a German champion in the 1980s has coalesced neatly with the exploits of Dubawi's very first stakes winner to supply Godolphin with a homebred hero of the Derby and King George.
The son of Frankel is not directly related to Sand Vixen, who became the first of 209 stakes winners by Dubawi when landing the Listed St Hugh's Stakes on August 14, 2009, but her achievements once retired to the Godolphin broodmare band have played a pivotal role in influencing the breeding of the first horse to go back-to-back from Epsom to Ascot since Galileo.
