Fittingly the first and third were bred by Tally-Ho Stud

While by no means a unique feat, the late Tally-Ho Stud resident Society Rock supplied the first three home in a 5f fillies' novice auction stakes for two-year-olds at Catterick on Monday.

The son of Rock Of Gibraltar, who succumbed to laminitis after standing his third season at Tally-Ho in 2016, was responsible for half of the ten-runner field, with the Archie Watson-trained Shumookhi holding on a by a neck from Society Queen, with Rock Party in third.

Society Rock's other two daughters in the race, Kyroc and Spirit Of Society, finished fifth and tenth respectively.

Fittingly, the first and third were bred by Tally-Ho Stud, with the winner an £11,000 purchase for Blandford Bloodstock at the Tattersalls Ireland Ascot Breeze-Up Sale.

Other recent examples of sires supplying all three podium finishers in a race include Galileo stamping his class on Found's Arc and Minding's 1,000 Guineas; Dubawi's clean sweep in last year's Prix Vermeille; and, in the point-to-point sphere, Beakstown leading home a 1-2-3 for Stowaway in an eight-runner Turtulla maiden last November.
