Larissa Kneip, the well-known and multi-talented owner of Haras de Saint Arnoult in Normandy, died suddenly on Tuesday at the age of 51.

The Luxembourg native first worked in television before switching to horses and was not only a consignor but a breeder of Group winners such as Jackfinbar, a trainer and also stood stallions including Elarqam at her stud.

Her friend Sandrine Grevet told French publication Jour de Galop: "Larissa was a courageous person, with a big heart and a lot of energy. Nothing scared her, she was a go-getter.

"In her first life, she had a career in audiovisual and marketing, working in particular on the production of corporate films.

"She spoke more than seven languages and was known all over Europe, travelling a lot. The passion for horses was stronger and she therefore made the choice to make her life from 2008. She had many friends in racing and around her, an international clientele had taken over the stud farm."
