Le Havre headlines Sumbe roster at €40,000

The fees for the four stallions standing under Nurlan Bizakov's Sumbe banner have been released, with Le Havre remaining at €40,000 and standing alongside Golden Horde, Recorder and new acquisition De Treville.

Le Havre, who is responsible for five top-flight winners among 20 individual Group winners, including Poule d'Essai des Pouliches heroines Avenir Certain and La Cressonniere, leads the way at €40,000.

His star act over the last two seasons, Wonderful Tonight, won the Hardwicke Stakes this term to go with her victories in the British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes and Prix de Royallieu, but was retired due to injury in September, before her intended crack at the Arc.

Promising first-season sire Recorder, a homebred of the Queen and an Acomb Stakes-winning son of Galileo and Group-winning Danehill Dancer mare Memory, will also stand unchanged at €4,000.

The eight-year-old has sired eight individual winners from his first crop of two-year-olds, including the Listed-placed Hot Queen.

Commonwealth Cup and Richmond Stakes hero Golden Horde has had his fee adjusted to €8,000 from €10,000 this year. The four-year-old son of Lethal Force was a top-class talent for Clive Cox and AlMohamediya Racing, winning three of his ten starts and also placing in the July Cup, Sprint Cup, Prix Morny and Middle Park Stakes.

The roster is completed by De Treville, a Group-placed son of Oasis Dream and the outstanding Dar Re Mi. The half-brother to champion juvenile and top-class miler Too Darn Hot, So Mi Dar and Lah Ti Dar has sired two winners, including the stakes-placed Diadema, and will command a fee of €2,500.

Sumbe’s Mathieu Alex said of the roster: “Le Havre, the sire of 45 stakes winners, had another stellar year in 2021 and we feel very fortunate to stand such a high-class stallion.

"Next year looks particularly exciting with the first foals by Golden Horde. We have a lot of faith in him, as he was a Group 1 winner at Royal Ascot and a Group winner at two. He is a beautiful horse and breeders love him when they see him.
