Time Test to remain at £15,000 as National Stud reveals 2023 roster
Stradivarius is a popular recruit alongside Lope Y Fernandez and Rajasinghe
The National Stud has confirmed their 2023 stud fees, with Time Test leading the way at an unchanged £15,000, and the addition of seven-time Group 1 winner Stradivarius at £10,000.
“Time Test has backed up his exciting start at stud with a number of high-class performers in his first two crops,” said head of bloodstock Joe Bradley.
“Crypto Force looks primed to build on his Group 2 Beresford Stakes win with a Classic campaign next season, and Rocchigiani was another 2022 highlight when winning the Group 3 Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, finishing in front of Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes winner Bayside Boy.
“Time Test has had a steady stream of high-quality winners throughout the year, his biggest and best quality books are still to come and we are very excited about what the future holds for him.”
Lope Y Fernandez was very well received by breeders, covering a stellar first book of 134 mares in his first season, and his £8,500 fee remains unchanged for 2023.
Rajasinghe's first crop of two-year-olds got off to a sensational start, with 67 per cent winners to runners from his first crop – he will remain exceptional value at £3,000.
Bradley added: “Lope Y Fernandez is an outstanding physical with the most fantastic walk.
“He covered a very strong book in 2022 and, as the only son of Lope De Vega standing in the UK, provides access to one of the best international sire lines at a very attractive price. The partnership involved has such faith in the horse and we are now very excited to see his first foals in 2023."
He continued: “It is a privilege to welcome Stradivarius to the National Stud’s roster for 2023. His exhilarating turn of foot, soundness and will to win all combined to make him a true icon of the modern racing era.
"An exceptional son of leading sire Sea The Stars, who has just recorded one of his best seasons at stud to date, he offers breeders exceptional value at £10,000.
“Rajasinghe's strike-rate has just been incredible. They are clearly demonstrating the early speed he had as a record-breaking Coventry Stakes winner at Royal Ascot.
"He is an ideal prospect for those looking to inject speed and precocity into their mare, at a seriously appealing fee of £3,000.”
