Tom Peacock speaks to the Kentucky trainer after his fruitful visit to Arqana
There were few more interesting - or interested - visitors to the Arqana sales ground this month than Kenny McPeek, who opted for the kind of buying strategy that has served him well so far.
Among those that the Kentucky-based trainer has discovered for reasonable prices at auction are the multimillionaire-turned-stallion Curlin and the current star of his own stable, last year's Preakness winner Swiss Skydiver.
"I've bought internationally all my career, I've been buying in South America primarily, I brought in Brazilian and Argentinian yearlings and probably the most notable one I brought to the US was a horse named Einstein [a dual Turf Classic winner]," he says.
