Tom Peacock speaks to owner-breeder Luc Monnet about a giant French jumper
There are two young giants in the sporting life of Luc Monnet at the moment, both of whom could be names to remember once they appear in arenas outside their native France.
Monnet is a manager and a board member of the Metropolitans 92 basketball team in the French top division, which has in its ranks an 18-year-old player already being regarded as a generational talent.
Victor Wembanyama, all 7ft 3in of him, looks to have everything. An almost irresistible physical threat when bearing down towards the opposition net with the ball in his hands, he also seems to span most of the court when defending his own one.
