Zoustar half-sister among the well-bred juveniles to savour on Saturday

A half-sister to Zoustar and a colt out of champion Six Perfections are among the blueblooded juveniles set to represent Ballydoyle at Cork tomorrow.

All eyes, however, will most likely be on the yard’s Zagitova following her pleasing debut second to Antonia De Vega at Newmarket last month. Evidently held in some regard, the filly takes her chance in the mile fillies maiden (1.15pm) in a field that also includes the Aga Khan homebred Baladiya, a Pivotal filly who is the first foal out of the Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial runner-up Balansiya.

Zagitova was one of the highlights of last year’s Tattersalls October Sale when selling to MV Magnier, Mayfair Speculators and Peter and Ross Doyle for 1,600,000gns. Bred by Lynch Bages, she is a half-sister to Prix Maurice de Gheest winner Garswood and the fifth foal out of Penchant, an unraced Kyllachy three-parts sister to Nell Gywn Stakes winner Infallible, herself dam of this year’s classy three-year-old Veracious.

Aidan O’Brien also saddles At Last, the Galileo half-sister to champion Australian first-crop sire Zoustar. Winner of the Group 1 Golden Rose and Coolmore Stud Stakes, potential Tweenhills shuttler Zoustar has made a scintillating start to his stud career in Australia as the sire of three first-crop stakes winners, led by the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes heroine Sunlight.

At Last, bred by Orpendale, Chelston and Wyatt, is the sixth foal out of her dam, the winning Redoute’s Choice mare Zouzou.

Summit special about Mount Everest

O’Brien is also represented in the following maiden (1.50pm) by Mount Everest, the ninth foal out of the Niarchos family’s top miler Six Perfections who had subsequent Tyros Stakes winner Anthony Van Dyck behind him when sixth on his debut at the Curragh. The colt is one of eight foals by Galileo out of the mare and therefore a brother to the talented pair Yucatan and Faulfiler.

A far from Shambolic pedigree

Newmarket’s Sweet Solera card, meanwhile, opens with a 7f fillies' maiden (2pm) that is likely to prove informative.

John Gosden sends out arguably the most interesting debutante on paper in Shambolic, a homebred for the Duke Of Roxburghe and Duke Of Devonshire. The Shamardal filly is a half-sister to none other than Hong Kong icon Viva Pataca - the winner of eight Group 1 races - and American Grade 1 winner Laughing.

She is joined in the eight-strong line-up by Indigo Angel, a daughter of Dark Angel trained by Richard Hannon who sent out her brother Alhebayeb to win the 2012 July Stakes, King Power Racing’s Hello Bangkok, a Tamayuz sister to Listed winner Fadhayyil who cost 200,000gns at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale, and Sir Evelyn de Rothschild’s homebred Hawthorn Rose, a Nathaniel filly from Southcourt Stud’s productive Rambling Rose family. Like many of her relations, Hawthorn Rose is trained by Sir Michael Stoute.

Don't forget Saratoga

In addition to Mount Everest, Niarchos breeding is also represented on Saturday evening at Saratoga via A Thread Of Blue.

The Hard Spun colt, a $430,000 two-year-old purchase who is out of Lowther Stakes winner Enthused, makes his debut in the 7f maiden (3.49pm), a race that also includes Empire Of War, the Declaration Of War half-brother to last week’s Grade 1 Test Stakes heroine Separationofpowers.
