The Great British Stallion Showcase returns for 2022
GBRI and TBA launch digital platform to highlight British-based stallions
The Great British Stallion Showcase for 2022, an initiative of Great British Racing International (GBRI) and the Thoroughbred Breeders' Association (TBA), is now live.
An online platform which features a selection of first, second and third-season Flat sires and all ages of National Hunt stallions standing in the UK, it was so successful when launched last spring, with more than 10,000 visitors to the site, that GBRI and the TBA decided to continue the platform for 2022.
The showcase supports the TBA's National Hunt stallion parade, which takes place at the Goffs UK sales complex on Tuesday, and the Flat stallion parade which launches Tattersalls February Sale on Thursday, February 3.
Courtesy of a new link-up with Weatherbys, visitors to the website will have access to in-depth information about the featured stallions including pedigrees, race records, sales averages and best progeny for those sires who have offspring of racing age.
Photos and videos of each stallion feature in the showcase, along with audio clips from stud managers and owners, and information about upcoming stud open days are also available, while users can browse the digital showcase by stud farm.
One of the farms taking part in the showcase again this year is Alne Park Stud, home to Dink, and Grace Skelton, who manages the farm, commented: "We were eager to be part of the Great British Stallion Showcase again this year. It’s a great initiative and a really good platform for British breeders to promote their stallions.
"With Dink being new to the British breeding scene, the ability to upload video and other content is invaluable. It is a fantastic shop window for British stallions."
