Spotlight Sports Group, the Racing Post and ANZ Bloodstock News are introducing a new publication: Asia Bloodstock News.

The weekly digital newsletter will be delivered directly to the inbox of subscribers, as well as being available to download from the website anzbloodstock.news.com/asia/and published across social media channels.

ANZ director James Oldring said: “The significance of Asia within the thoroughbred racing world is ever-increasing; whether that be in terms of the quality of stallions standing in the region, the buying power of the established and emerging bloodstock organisations or the sheer passion of the fanbase - Asia is a major global player.

“We’re excited to be launching our new digital publication, Asia Bloodstock News, which takes all the best features and formats of ANZ Bloodstock News, while adding video functionality and the ability to switch between languages at the touch of a button.

"We look forward to not only reporting on the growth of the Asian bloodstock and racing world, but to becoming a part of that story ourselves.”

Asia Bloodstock News will be published on Wednesday morning (Asian time) and will feature news, interviews with key industry participants, global stakes race results and statistics.

ANZ Bloodstock News managing editor Alex Wiltshire is looking forward to the new publication’s launch.

“This has been an exciting project since I became part of the ANZ Bloodstock News team and it’s fantastic to offer our first edition of the publication on Wednesday,” he said.

“There is no question about it, Asia is a burgeoning force in the global bloodstock arena, snapping up the very best racing and breeding prospects from across both hemispheres, delivering outstanding racing and, in the case of Japan, producing world class horseflesh that so often holds prominent place in racing jurisdictions across the world.

“This dedicated publication to the Asian market will present the relevant talking points from the region, as well as offer all the key analysis, statistics and journalistic quality that readers of ANZ Bloodstock News have become accustomed to.”

The translation services are provided by ICS, part of Spotlight Sports Group, while the new platform for creating the digital publication has been the work of Aaron Davies-Jones, design and production manager at ANZ Bloodstock News and Racing Post Bloodstock.

“The new digital publication is something we’re extremely proud of - we’ve taken the fundamental PDF format of ANZ Bloodstock News, which is so popular with our readership, and worked to incorporate HTML functionality, including the ability to insert video, into that framework,” he said.

“We’ve also developed the ‘one-touch translation’ facility, enabling readers to flick between English and Simplified Chinese with minimal disruption to their layout and reader experience.”
