LM Stallions will introduce a five-strong roster at March Hare Stud in Dorset next year, headed by Legends Of War and the Classic-placed Tip Two Win.

Legends Of War is set to command a £6,000 fee when the Grade 3 winner takes up stud duties next spring.

The four-year-old hails from the final crop of the late, great Scat Daddy and first hit the headlines when topping the 2018 Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale when hammered down for 900,000gns.

Legends Of War finished second to Emaraaty Ana by less than a length in the Gimcrack Stakes that same year for John Gosden and Qatar Racing, while a transfer to the US and the yard of Doug O'Neill was rewarded when he captured a Grade 3 sprint at Kentucky Downs last September.

Joining him will be Roger Teal's former inmate Tip Two Win, the dashing grey son of Dark Angel who outran his odds of 50-1 when a close second to Saxon Warrior in the 2,000 Guineas in 2018.

The stakes scorer at two and three has been pitched in at a £5,000 fee.

"We've a very exciting roster for next year," said Luke Gedge-Gibson of LM Stallions.

"Legends Of War will be the first son of Scat Daddy to stand in the UK and he showed emphatic speed to win from the front in the Grade 3 Franklin-Simpson Stakes at Kentucky Downs.

"Tip Two Win was a stakes winner at two and Classic-placed at three beating seasoned stallions such as Masar, Roaring Lion, Gustav Klimt, James Garfield, Expert Eye and Rajasinghe. He's also the second highest-rated son of Dark Angel in the UK and Ireland."

Most Flat breeders harbour the desire to breed a Royal Ascot winner and will have the opportunity to breed their mares to one when Southern Hills takes up residence at March Hare Stud at a £4,000 fee.

The son of Gleneagles became his sire's first stakes scorer when landing the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at the royal meeting last year, when defeating the subsequent July Stakes second Platinum Star.

"He's a good-looking, Royal Ascot-winning two-year-old and looks all speed," noted Luke.

Master Carpenter will also make the move to Dorset to stand under the banner of LM Stallions at a £1,500 fee, having previously stood for two seasons under the GG Bloodstock and Racing banner in Kirtling near Newmarket.

"He's had a cracking bunch of first foals whom all breeders have been extremely pleased with," said Luke of the Group 3 winner by Mastercraftsman.

"He looks to have passed on his good nature and attributes to his stock."

Previously home to Midnight Legend, March Hare Stud will also stand the dual-purpose stallion Diplomat at a £2,500 fee.

The son of Teofilo was campaigned up until the age of eight, winning Group 2 events on the Flat in Germany and Italy as well as a valuable hurdle prize at Auteuil last March.

"Diplomat is a unique horse being a European dual Group 2 winner over a mile, not to mention his win over obstacles at eight years of age," noted Luke.

"By Teofilo, he hails from the same family as Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Don Cossack, the Grade 1-placed Sancta Simona and Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom. He shows great attributes for both codes."

March Hare Stud is located on approximately 235 acres of farmland set in a stunning location with top-quality grazing. The facilities are described by Luke as second-to-none including two American barns, loose boxes, walkers, gallops, covering barn, indoor and all-weather turnout and a team with a wealth of experience.

In addition to LM Stallions, March Hare Stud will also be the home of GG Bloodstock, which will provide services such as breaking, pre-training, sales prep and consignment; and Budling Bloodstock, which run the mare side of the business, with all three businesses set to work in tandem with each other.

March Hare Stud will hold stallion parades in December and February, with dates to follow later in the year.

"The vision for March Hare Stud is to produce quality but be fairly priced to breeders," added Luke.

"We feel with how we are marketing our stallions that they will appeal to breeders in Britain, Ireland and on the continent. We can produce both commercial stock and racehorses. We look forward to seeing their stock in the near future and supporting them in the ring and on the racecourse."

Dorset is home to many familiar faces in racing and breeding including Colin Tizzard, James and Anita Wigan, and Doug Proctor's The Glanvilles Stud.
