Harrington to debut filly out of a half-sister to Rewilding and Dar Re Mi

Jessica Harrington is most likely still revelling in the weekend success of Alpha Centauri, and she could unearth another potential superstar filly in the shape of the stoutly-bred Trethias at Gowran Park (4.35) on Wednesday.

A 400,000 guineas purchase from Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Trethias is a daughter of Invincible Spirit out of the modest racemare Evita, meaning she is closely related to Listed winner Moohaarib.

Although Evita did not pull up any trees in her short racing career, she was bred for the job, being a half-sister to a host of top level performers including Rewilding, who was third in the 2010 Epsom Derby before going on to land the Dubai Sheema Classic and Prince Of Wales's Stakes as a four-year-old.

Evita is also a half-sister to the brilliant racemare-turned-broodmare Dar Re Mi, incidentally also a winner of the Dubai Sheema Classic, who has produced stakes winners So Mi Dar and Lah Ti Dar, with her most recent racecourse debutante Too Darn Hot entering next year's Classic picture with a scintillating maiden win at Sandown last week.

If that was not enough black type, Evita's half-brother River Dancer, who's Hong Kong race-name was Diaghilev, was crowned champion older male in Hong Kong for the 2003-04 season, and Trethias' second dam, Darara, was the joint-second top filly in the 1986 European three-year-old classifications following victory in the Prix Vermeille.

It will be by no means a penalty kick for Trethias on debut, as the Moyglare Stud Stakes entry is likely to face stiff competition from the likes of South Pacific in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.

An eye-watering €1,000,000 purchase from the Arqana August Yearling Sale at Deauville, South Pacific is a half-brother to juvenile Group 1 winner Ectot and St James' Palace victor Most Improved, and is expected to build on his quiet debut fourth at Tipperary in typical Aidan O'Brien fashion.

A further intriguing addition to the line-up is Dermot Weld's newcomer Endessann, the first foal out of Weld's Group 3 winner Edelmira, whilst Joseph O'Brien's Cartes, whose dam is a sister to Sri Putra, made an eyecatching debut at Limerick back in June.

A quick journey across the Irish Sea to Salisbury sees the debut of a well-related Clive Cox inmate in the opening British EBF Molson Coors Novice Stakes (2.10).

The Lethal Force colt Flash Of Power is the second foal out of the five-time winning mare Fanrouge, making him a brother to useful stablemate Prince Of The Dark, who won impressively on debut last season before running with great credit to finish sixth behind Rajasinghe in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Fanrouge currently has a colt yearling and filly foal by the same sire, all bred by Lethal Force's owner Alan Craddock.

In the feature race on the card, the British Stallion Studs EBF Upavon Fillies' Stakes (3.40), the well-related Crystal Hope goes in search of her first black type victory for Sir Michael Stoute.

Her dam Crystal Etoile is closely related to Canadian Grade 1 winner Hillstar, as well as being a half-sister to the high-class duo Crystal Capella and Crystal Ocean.
