The catalogue for this year's sale has been released and comprises 577 juveniles, taking place on March 12-13 with sessions beginning at 10.30am local time.

Last year's Norfolk Stakes scorer Shang Shang Shang took her second turn through a sales ring when hammered down for $200,000 at last year's OBS March Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training.

Wesley Ward's charge fetched $110,000 in the same sales ring as a short yearling and won a maiden special weight at Keeneland in impressive style on debut before appearing at Royal Ascot.

Other graduates from the sale include Grade 1 Pacific Classic winner Collected, who brought $150,000 in 2015, and Grade 3 scorer Take Charge Paula, a $50,000 buy in 2017 who sold at last year's Fasig-Tipton November Sale for $475,000.

Many leading US sires are represented including Awesome Again, Bernardini, Bodemeister, Candy Ride, City Zip, Curlin, Distorted Humor, Empire Maker, First Dude, Ghostzapper, Into Mischief, Kitten's Joy, Lookin At Lucky, Medaglia D'Oro, Malibu Moon, More Than Ready, Pioneerof The Nile, Speightstown, Tapit, Tiznow, Quality Road, Uncle Mo, Union Rags and War Front.

Triple Crown winner American Pharoah is among the up-and-coming sires with March Sale offspring, a group that includes Bayern, Cairo Prince, Carpe Diem, Central Banker, Chitu, Cross Traffic, Goldencents, Fed Biz, Honor Code, Khozan, Liam's Map, No Nay Never, Violence, Uncaptured and Will Take Charge.

"Since we expanded the sale format in 2015, March has really become a much broader marketplace," said OBS director of sales Tod Wojciechowski.

"We were able to add a group of precocious horses in addition to the select-type horses they already expect in March. All you have to do is look at the list of runners that have come out of this sale over the past few years to see that quality horses come in all different types and price ranges."
