Held up in rear, headway inside final furlong, went third inside final 110yds, ran on well, eyecatcher (jockey said, regarding running and riding, that his instructions from widest draw in stall 10, were to take his time and avoid being trapped deep without cover, with a view to giving colt every chance to finish his race off well; he explained that colt travelled very strongly for much of the race and it took him until 1st bend in order to fold across behind runners and obtain some cover, adding that he considered the pace up front to be strong; despite this fact colt was always overracing; he was mindful of colt's early exertions and for this reason wanted to creep into race steadily where he had been nudging and squeezing along early in home straight before fully mounting his challenge; jockey finished by saying that overall he was pleased with way colt found the line and considered that the wide draw on this occasion had resulted in horse getting further back than intended) (op 9/2)
