Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Fancies from Lingfield, Pontefract, Stratford, Tipperary and Wolverhampton

Monday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Lingfield

1.00: Miquelon

Il Bandito holds every chance back down in class but he's been suffering from seconditis and may have to settle for another silver medal. Miquelon (nap) goes back up in grade but he won well over C&D last month and looks capable of further progress. Third choice is Eton College, ahead of Giuseppe Cassioli. Market confidence behind seasonal debutant Animal Instinct should be heeded.
Steve Boow

Pontefract

3.44: Fauvette

The lightly raced 4yo Fauvette (nap) looked a filly to follow when winning with something to spare at Yarmouth last month and a 5lb rise could underestimate her. The forecast testing ground is a positive for Marvep (feared most) and Follow Your Heart, while the prolific Motawaazy also has to go on the shortlist. Captain Jameson and Patsy Fagan arrive in good form, and Penny Pot Lane and Mr Orange can never be ruled out over this C&D.

Stratford

3.52: Lost In Montmartre

Richie Valentine had Lost In Montmartre (nap) back in third at Bangor last week but the selection can gain her revenge on the revised terms and softer ground.
Alistair Jones

Tipperary

5.35: Swift Flight

No outstanding candidate but perhaps Swift Flight (nap) can get off the mark after a slightly unlucky run last time and any softening in the ground will be in his favour. Notoriously Risky looks the main danger on form, although that filly's regular rider now partners the stablemate Cheval Blanc here so any market support for that one should be noted. Elanora and Mickey The Steel both hold solid place claims at least.
Alan Hewison

Wolverhampton

7.30: On The Right Track

An interesting race in which the vote goes to C&D winner On The Right Track (nap), who made it two wins from his last three starts when beating a clear second at Goodwood and is a big player again off only 4lb higher on this drop back in grade. The other last-time-out winners Sundayinmay and Invincible Soldier are feared most in that order, though Crystal Guard is well handicapped on his best form and could be dangerous on his step back up in trip.
