Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Catterick
5.45: Golden Gal
The Bath handicap in which Shesadabber justified good support at Bath on Friday was a strong race for the grade and she's not opposed lightly under the penalty, but she has serial fast starter Mrs Bagerran (questions about the ground) drawn next door and this may be set up for something. Zoom Star, who has two wins and a close second to her name in three C&D starts on slow ground, is respected, but the vote goes to Golden Gal, who won this off the same mark last year and is 6lb better off with runner-up Shesadabber.

Chelmsford
7.50: Monaadhil
Despite taking on rivals less than half his age, this looks a good opportunity for Monaadhil to record C&D win number four. Thomas Equinas also has winning form over C&D, so has to be respected, while the maiden Irish Dessert ran his best race when third last time and would hold claims if building on that.
David Bellingham
Ffos Las
4.50: Night Moon
Hitched continued the progress last time but he has often pulled hard, hence the hood, and will need to settle now he's tackling soft ground and going beyond 1m for the first time. Conversely there are no stamina concerns for Night Moon, who fared much better from the front last time and whose useful sister won three times in the mud at up to 1m6f. City Escape is best on Tapeta and is unproven under these conditions.

Ripon
6.10: Temper Trap
Chagall (second choice) and Bay Dream Believer can go well but Temper Trap is back in the groove now and he still appeals as being ahead of his mark despite a 5lb penalty for Saturday's Hamilton win.
Paul Smith
Roscommon
8.00: Tech Talk
The first, third, and fourth horses from Fr Gilligansvoyge's last race contest the previous handicap so that form might well receive a timely boost ahead of this, while Rudy Catrail is another must for the shortlist. However, Tech Talk has lower mileage and returning to 3m should be right up his street.
