Trio of high-class three-year-olds added to Arc sale on eve of the big meeting
A further three promising three-year-olds, of which two are already black-type performers, will go under the hammer at Saint-Cloud on Saturday, October 3 as wildcard additions to the Arc sale.
A winner of the Group 3 Mehl-Mülhens-Trophy this summer, Gestüt Auenquelle’s Virginia Joy is lot 24. This three-year-old daughter of Soldier Hollow, with a current rating of 106, is one of the best German fillies of her generation. Trained by Marcel Weiss, she also finished third in the Preis der Diana that was won by the John Gosden-trained Miss Yoda, and was runner-up in the Group 2 T von Zastrow Stutenpreis this year.
Runner-up in the Group 3 Prix de Lutece behind the talented Paix, Step By Step is offered by Yann Barberot as lot 25. The winner of three races this season including the Listed Derby du Languedoc, he currently has a rating of 106 and holds an entry in the Group 2 Qatar Prix Chaudenay.
With a current rating of 99, the Mikel Delzangles trained Irshad is lot 26. Fourth in the Group 3 Prix de Guiche, a race won by the talented Chachnak, this Aga Khan colt finished second at Compiegne over a mile and a quarter on Thursday, when he was beaten only a head by the Andre Fabre-trained Mr De Pouceaugnac.
