The cheapest of six yearling purchases to line up in the at Sandown on Thursday evening proved that price is no hindrance to her ability, as she ran out a game winner despite appearing to idle in the last furlong.

The Charlie Hills-trained Flippa The Strippa, a first-crop daughter of Outstrip, was purchased by Chris Wright's Stratford Place Stud for £10,000 from her breeder Linacre House Stud at the Tattersalls Ascot September Sale.

Her victory makes Outstrip the second freshman sire to field a stakes winner in Europe this year, after Due Diligence filly Good Vibes landed the Listed Marygate Stakes at York last week.

Flippa The Strippa is a half-sister to the winning miler Vice Marshal, and is the third foal out of the Verglas mare Celsius Degre, a winner in France.

The February-foaled youngster was a winner of a novice auction stakes at Chepstow on her second start two weeks ago, and was chased home in second by the No Nay Never filly Jm Jackson, a €58,000 purchase for connections at the Tattersalls Ireland September Sale, while in third was the Dialed In colt Strive For Glory, signed for by his trainer Robert Cowell for $80,000 at the Keeneland September Sale.

Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf winner Outstrip, an eight-year-old son of Exceed And Excel, has 107 two-year-olds to represent him this year, with his other winner to date the Italian scorer Cappuccino Bay.
