Keeneland issues 4,549-strong catalogue for November Breeding Stock Sale
Keeneland has catalogued 4,549 horses for this year's November Breeding Stock Sale, which will be held November 6-17 and begin with an exclusive Book 1 featuring 275 Graded stakes-winning fillies and mares and notably bred foals.
Also entered in the sale are offerings connected to two Triple Crown winners: 23 broodmares in foal to 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, 22 weanlings by the stallion and 16 mares carrying the first offspring of 2018 Triple Crown winner Justify.
A total of 2,134 broodmares and broodmare prospects, 1,932 weanlings, 476 horses of racing age, and seven stallions have been catalogued to the sale.
"The November Sale is the world's most important auction of its kind because it offers tremendous opportunities in several market segments and at all price levels to acquire quality breeding and racing stock," Keeneland vice president of racing and sales Bob Elliston said.
"Horsemen know Keeneland is one-stop shopping for stakes-winning fillies and stakes-producing mares in foal to leading sires, well-bred weanlings and talented horses of racing age."
Highlighting the prestigious Book 1 catalogue are such exceptional fillies and mares as:
- Recent Natalma winner Abscond, who with the win secured a berth in this year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. She is catalogued as a racing prospect.
- Grade 1 winner Callback, in foal to Medaglia D'Oro.
- Grade 1 winner Dame Dorothy, in foal to Uncle Mo.
- Grade 1 winner Eskimo Kisses, carrying her first foal by Curlin.
- Lil Indy, dam of multiple Grade 1 winner Maximum Security, in foal to Quality Road. Her weanling filly who is a full-sister to Maximum Security is also catalogued.
- Molly Corbin, a half-sister to European champion Peeping Fawn and French Group 1 winner Thewayyouare and from the family of broodmares of the year Better Than Honour and Best In Show, in foal to Justify.
- Grade 1 winner and stakes producer Nereid, in foal to Quality Road.
- Grade 1 winners Ollie's Candy and Spiced Perfection, both catalogued as racing or broodmare prospects. Spiced Perfection is expected to make her next start in Keeneland's Thoroughbred Club of America on Saturday.
- Grade 1 winner Sailor's Valentine, carrying her first foal by War Front.
- Champion and multiple Grade 1 winner Take Charge Brandi, in foal to Justify.
