First stakes winner for Frankel as a broodmare sire as Noble Truth holds on
The son of Kingman is out of Speralita, an unraced half-sister to Stacelita
The bloodlines of Juddmonte's two powerhouse stallions combined when Kingman colt Noble Truth came home narrowly in front in the Flying Scotsman Stakes at Doncaster, providing Frankel with a significant first stakes success as a broodmare sire.
Godolphin's classy colt - picked up for €1.1 million at Arqana's Select Yearling Sale - has not always looked straightforward but showcased his talent when nosing out Hoo Ya Mal in the Listed event, a race won in emphatic fashion by his damsire in 2010.
Bred by Jean-Pierre Dubois, Noble Truth is the first foal out of the unraced Speralita, a Frankel half-sister to the top-class Stacelita, a daughter of Monsun who won five top-level contests for Jean-Claude Rouget and Chad Brown including the Prix de Diane, Prix Jean Romanet and Beverly D Stakes.
Stacelita has gone on to be an equally high-class broodmare, producing Frankel's first top-level and Classic winner in Japanese champion Soul Stirring, winner of the Japanese Oaks and Hanshin Juvenile Fillies for Kazuo Fujisawa and Shadai Race Horse.
She has also produced Schon Glanz, a Grade 3-winning daughter of the great Deep Impact, and has a two-year-old full-sister to Soul Stirring in training. Stacelita produced a Frankel colt this year and was covered by Kingman subsequently.
Although unraced herself, Speralita made a six-figure sum at the 2015 Arqana August Yearling Sale when selling to Oceanic Bloodstock for €450,000. She returned to Kingman this year.
Speralita and Stacelita are out of the Listed-winning Dashing Blade mare Soignee, in turn a half-sister to dual German Group 2 scorer Simoun and the stakes-winning Soudaine, the dam of Grand Prix de Deauville winner Savoir Vivre.
Frankel has made significant inroads as a broodmare sire this year, with five individual winners and two further stakes performers in Juddmonte's Group 3 Silver Flash Stakes second Juncture and the Australian Listed-placed Wizard Of Oz.
Kingman has had a fruitful beginning to his association with Frankel mares, having also sired York novice stakes winner Tolstoy, who is out of a daughter of Matron Stakes victress Emulous.
Daughters of Frankel sent to Kingman this year and in recent seasons include Lady Frankel, a Group 1-placed half-sister to Lope De Vega who produced a filly foal in 2020; Fount, a Group 3-winning daughter of classy American performer Ventura who produced a colt this year; and Sun Maiden, a Group winner and third in the British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes who was covered by the son of Invincible Spirit this year.
