Fasig-Tipton to sponsor Sandown’s Solario Stakes
Fasig-Tipton has been announced as new sponsor of Saturday's Solario Stakes at Sandown.
Now to be known as the Fasig-Tipton Night Of The Stars Solario Stakes, the Group 3 event is to provide a reminder for the auction house's November breeding stock auction. Notable recent winners of the race include Too Darn Hot, Masar, Kingman, and Raven’s Pass.
"We are pleased to form a partnership with Sandown Park and The Jockey Club to sponsor the Solario Stakes to
“Our November Sale has a tremendous track record selling top quality race fillies and mares with elite European form and pedigree. Sponsoring the Solario Stakes provides us with an exciting vehicle by which to market the sale to European owners and consignors that may wish to offer their stock at auction.”
Andrew Cooper, head of racing and clerk of the course at Sandown, added: "We are thrilled to be welcoming Fasig-Tipton as partners for this weekend’s Solario Stakes. It is a proven stepping stone for future stars and this year’s renewal is shaping up to be an extremely exciting one with a number of unbeaten and hugely promising colts engaged at the entry stage.”
In 2021, Fasig-Tipton’s one night November auction sold 26 fillies and mares for $1,000,000 or higher including Magical World, offered in foal to Into Mischief, whose $5.2 million hammer price made her the most expensive thoroughbred sold in the world in 2021. It takes place on Sunday, November 6.
