Dual Group 2 winner Headman has retired from racing and will stand at Figerro Breeding Farm in Saône-et-Loire, France this year.

The son of Kingman was trained by Roger Charlton to land four of his nine starts including the Group 2 Prix Eugene Adam and Prix Guillaume d'Ornano at three in 2019.

An impressive debut winner on the all-weather at Newcastle as a two-year-old, Headman also struck in the London Gold Cup at Newbury, following in the footsteps of the fellow Charlton-trained and Juddmonte-owned Time Test.

The five-year-old is the sixth foal out of the winning King's Best mare Deliberate, a half-sister to five-time top-level winner Flintshire, who stands at Hill 'N' Dale Farm in Kentucky, plus Dance Moves, a dual Listed victor for Andre Fabre.

Deliberate has also produced Projected, a Grade 2-winning son of Showcasing, and Delivery, a Group 3-placed daughter of Rail Link.

Deliberate is herself out of the Sadler's Wells mare Dance Routine, winner of the Group 2 Prix de Royallieu and runner-up in the Group 1 Prix de Diane for Fabre and a full-sister to Concentric, the dam of dual Arc heroine and 11-time Group/Grade 1 winner Enable.

She is also a full-sister to the Group 3-placed Light Ballet, the dam of four winners including Listed scorer Penchee, whose other siblings include the stakes winners Apsis and Space Quest.

Deliberate has a two-year-old Siyouni filly named Suyian, produced a filly by Kingman last year and was covered by the Banstead Manor Stud stallion again last year.

Headman will stand for a fee of €2,800.
