Sporting artwork exhibition to feature at Tattersalls December Mare Sale
Katie O'Sullivan and Hubert de Watrigant are showcasing their work
Visitors to Tattersalls this coming week will have more than just the priceless articles among the catalogue for the December Mare Sale to inspect as a small exhibition from the Osborne Studio Gallery will also be on display.
A handful of pieces of sporting artwork have been brought from the Belgravia premises to Newmarket, by several names that will be very familiar.
There will be paintings by Katie O’Sullivan, the wife of Lambourn trainer Jamie Osborne, and by Hubert de Watrigant, whose whole family, such as his agent nephew Nicolas, are involved in the industry.
The event has been organised by Harry Dunlop, the recently retired trainer, who has added an involvement in the art world to his portfolio.
"It was something that happened a few years ago and with the new Sceptre sessions at the mare sale and a lot of excitement around the event, we thought it would be a fun thing to bring back," said Dunlop.
"There will be six or seven paintings, which are for sale, in the reception area and hopefully people will come over and take a look."
