She further stated that she squeezed the mare along in the back straight on the final circuit but felt that her stride was shortening. As the leaders had got away from the mare at this stage she felt it prudent to get the mare home safely. The trainer added that the ride accorded with his instructions and further added that, as this was the mares fourth run in a month, the mare might benefit from a break.)
