gr g Turgeon (USA) - Sparkling Elisa (FR) (Cadoudal)
Midfield, headway after 6th, outpaced when ridden after 3 out, kept on well approaching last, went third run-in (the stewards enquired into the running and riding; K.J. Brouder stated that his instructions were to give his mount a little light. He was free last time out. Today he got the horse relaxed, he was caught flat-footed from five furlongs out and got into his stride past beaten horses in the straight. He summed up by stating that this is a big, raw, babyish horse who stands 18hh. Eoin Christopher McCarthy, confirmed the instructions given to the rider and expressed his satisfaction with the ride given. He stated that the horse ran free last time out. He didn't want the horse buried in company today and didn't want him to jump into others but for the rider to move out when coming to a hurdle. Today he felt he got settled. When the horses in front quickened he was caught as he's babyish. As regards the future he hoped he'd be good enough to win a maiden hurdle this season if the ground doesn't dry out too much; the stewards also received a report from the vet who stated that the gelding was post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis) (op 33/1 tchd 25/1)
