Tim Easterby has pair of leading hopefuls at Catterick

ATTENTION SEAKER (2.40) has enjoyed switching back to the Flat this summer and can defy top weight in the 2m handicap.

Tim Easterby’s mare spent a while hurdling, but she has raced four times on the Flat this year and won two of them, first at this course and then at Beverley.

Her latest effort in a race that wasn’t run to suit can be forgiven and she will appreciate the return of David Allan to the saddle as the duo are unbeaten in two starts.

Easterby also has a good chance with OUR CHARLIE BROWN (2.10) in the 7f handicap.

The three-year-old never threatened Boots And Spurs over course and distance last time out but has won two previous starts here, including in September as he stayed on strongly to deny Heir Of Excitement. Some leniency from the handicapper means he’s just 1lb higher here.

JABBAAR (1.35) had been struggling to get his head in front, but stepping up to this trip helped him get back to winning ways over course and distance last time out.

Iain Jardine’s four-year-old was given a patient ride and picked his way through the pack before showing a willing attitude to get the upper hand. A 3lb rise might not be enough to stop him following up.

Wolverhampton

LADY JOANNA VASSA (6.10) has posted a string of solid efforts recently and looks sure to go well again in the 5f handicap.

Richard Guest’s filly has finished out of the frame just once in the eight races she has worn a hood and visor this summer and she added a second success in the headgear at Kempton last time out.

She has gone up just 3lb since then and can make the most of the weight she receives from her ten rivals.

Chepstow

MONDELLO (2.50) has yet to win over hurdles, but this handicap for horses who haven’t struck in the past 12 months represents a good opportunity for Richard Woollacott’s six-year-old.

The gelding is now 0-15 in this sphere, but he stayed on for second after a break at Uttoxeter in July.

A one-paced fifth at the same venue last time out suggested he was ready for this step up to this sort of trip.

Bangor

BALLYCOOL (2.30) recorded his most recent victory back in August 2016 at this course and confirmed a liking for the track with a second over 2m4f last time out.

He made a couple of mistakes but still held every chance until headed by Deadly Move in the closing stages.

Lucinda Russell’s ten-year-old left the also-rans well behind and a repeat performance would see him go close again off an unchanged mark.
