The Meydan Punt: Nick Driver with three to follow on Thursday
BANKER
Magic Lily (4.15 Meydan)
I think it's going to be tough for the rest of the field to live with potential Group 1 performer Magic Lily. I'd expect her to be favourite but she should deservedly be after showing her class in the Cape Verdi over a trip that was too short following a fair lay-off. This time the trip will suit a bit better and she should also strip much fitter for her previous outing. She does have to give Nisreen and the rest of the field three pounds for winning the Cape Verdi, but I don't think that'll be enough to stop her in a race she has been primed for by Charlie Appleby.
EYECATCHER
Torosay (4.50 Meydan)
Doug O'Neill is finally starting to land winners at Meydan and there could be more ahead as his string reach peak fitness, so Torosay could be worth chancing. The selection is only one from four in the US but did break the Santa Anita course record over 5½f when breaking his maiden and the trainer has had this race in mind for a long time. It is a wide-open affair, but with Torosay coming into the race carrying a low weight and with the assistance of William Buick, there's every chance he could spring up a surprise at hopefully a nice price. He'll need to be good however to get the better of the likes of Waady, Caspian Prince and High On Life.
LONGSHOT
Eynhallow (6.00 Meydan)
The final race on the card is once again a wide-open, 16-runner handicap and with Godolphin providing eight entries, there is hopefully some value to be had with five places likely to be on offer from selected bookmakers. Eynhallow was very unlucky on multiple occasions in 2018, going very close over this course and distance twice. While he hasn't been able to win, he's slowly been picking up his form and returns here off the same mark and with the same jockey as his close fourth in February 2018. While he is the third-choice Charlie Appleby runner and Saeed bin Suroor has some improving types, Eynhallow could certainly make the frame and while it'll be a tough ask to win, he'll probably have a good each-way chance at a decent price.
