Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Southwell

2.10: Prince Abu

This step back up in grade may not prevent Prince Abu from recording another success. He has won his last two races in good style and looks open to further improvement over staying distances on all-weather. Black Kalanisi (second choice) is a likely danger on the back of his course win, while Orin Swift and First Charge give owner Laurence Bellman a respectable hand.
Steve Boow

Kempton

4.05: Smarty Wild

The consistent Smarty Wild likes it here and is taken to go one better than when a clear second over course and distance last time out. Colonial Dreams ran a cracker on his chase debut at Newbury in December and is feared most having had the excuse of heavy ground when pulled up at Lingfield last month. Flegmatik is another to consider on the back of an encouraging third over course and distance last time.
Ben Hutton

Bangor

3.40: Kayfast Warrior

John Betjeman should make another bold bid under top weight but preference is for a couple making their debuts in handicap hurdles. Patient Owner connections have brought him along steadily and he almost certainly has untapped potential but the four-year-old Kayfast Warrior is at least as interesting and can strike for the bang-in-form McCain/Hughes combination.
Richard O'Brien

Chelmsford

5.15: Little Raven

This can go to Little Raven who is fancied to transfer his recent Tapeta improvement back to Polytrack under promising 7lb claimer Harry Davies. Midgetonamission may be next best despite being worse off with Away Wit Da Fairys and Dashing To You from Lingfield and Wolverhampton respectively as she too chases a hat-trick, while the well-related Tsubaki needs considering on stable form alone.
Graham Wheldon

Dundalk

5.30: Singsong Lady

The Ger Lyons-trained Jezebel Queen is of automatic interest on pedigree, but this may boil down to match between the two previous winners. A literal reading of form involving Silk Damask slightly favours last Friday's scorer Two Socks but Singsong Lady won readily three weeks ago and can follow up.
Alan Sweetman
