Smarty Wild (4.05 Kempton)

Any time Smarty Wild runs at Kempton he warrants plenty of respect, his three best efforts have come at the course and he looks primed for another. He finished a good second to the useful Caribean Boy here last time over three miles. Two lengths was the official winning margin but he would have been much closer, perhaps even have won, if he had jumped the last smoother. That still looks a solid piece of form and a 3lb rise from the handicapper is fair. The three-mile trip also appears to be what Smarty Wild needs these days so going back over course and distance is the obvious route to take. This looks a weaker race and he should prove too good.
