Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the eight bank holiday meetings

Monday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Cartmel

4.10: Demi Sang

Templepark seems very likely to give another good account, while Flowery certainly didn't run badly when seventh in a strong contest at Warwick last time and is also considered. However, the most interesting runner is Demi Sang (nap), who wasn't really firing towards the end of last season but has won two of his four starts at Cartmel and was second off a 16lb higher mark here last summer.
Chris Wilson

Chelmsford

2.00: Lady Monica

In-form duo Glorious Charmer and Aguerooo are sure to make their presence felt and C&D scorers Rockesbury and Catheadans Fury need considering too. There was a lot to like about Lady Monica (nap) in her Thirsk third for Mick Appleby though and she can capitalise on a much-reduced mark.
Peter Entwistle

Huntingdon

1.30: Lost History

The way that Lost History (nap) scored at Worcester on Thursday suggests that Dan Skelton has taken over a well-handicapped horse and he should be very hard to beat under a penalty. Whitlock and Serjeant Painter are obvious dangers ahead of handicap debutants Punctuation and Methusalar. Dylan's Sea Song is the most appealing each-way option at a likely bigger price.
Stuart Redding

Leicester

3.25: Twilight Calls

This will take some winning but Twilight Calls (nap) beat a respected opponent with lots in hand at Doncaster and he could be a colt going places. Imperial Yellow is well handicapped if able to resume where he left off last summer and he's second choice, though Uncle Jumbo and Ballyconneely Bay command respect. The likeable Nelson Gay is perhaps over-handicapped now.

Punchestown

5.30: The West Awaits

All seven of these have won either last time out or on their penultimate outings so this will take a bit of winning. Maniotpark AA might be the first string from the Willie Mullins yard on jockey bookings, but The West Awaits (nap) travelled as well as anything into the home straight in a hot mares' race at the festival here and is preferred.
David Jennings

Redcar

4.40: First Impression

A competitive renewal of this historic handicap can go to First Impression (nap), who failed only narrowly at Hamilton and is 1-1 over C&D. Nicholas T, a place behind the selection last time and fourth in this contest in 2019, heads the list of dangers, with Baryshnikov, Anythingtoday and the unexposed Makram others to make the shortlist.
Richard O'Brien

Roscommon

6.15: Prince Of Peace

It was a big step back in the right direction for Prince Of Peace (nap) at Killarney and, if the blinkers can have the desired effect once again, he is fancied to open his account. Cases can be made for so many, especially unexposed maidens like Gegenpressing and Kojin who both start handicapping off manageable marks, while Cisco Disco is arguably the most solid option after his near miss over C&D last time.
David Jennings

Windsor

3.20: Jawwaal

This sharp 5f isn't sure to suit Many A Star, even allowing for the speed he displayed at Ascot last time, so he's overlooked despite an appealing mark. Spoof and the admirable veteran Pettochside are considered but this may be best left to Jawwaal (nap). Although only seventh at York last time, it was a better race and he travelled as well as anything before tying up in the final furlong. He appeals as still being ahead of his mark.
