Not unusually, the turf Flat season has begun on very heavy ground and the meeting at Dundalk, which counts as part of the Flat season proper, played host to some interesting maidens.

Debatable is a filly with a bit of stamina in her pedigree and it might just have been a lack of options that persuaded her trainer to let her run in the all-weather 5f maiden.

She was a fraction slowly into her stride and outpaced before the straight, but she got a good education from Billy Lee and began to hit her stride inside the final furlong, coming home well.
