Goodwood Placepot tips: Tom Segal with three bankers for Sunday's perm

The four handicaps in the Goodwood Placepot are all really competitive and getting through them presents no easy task.
To keep the perm manageable, it may be worth relying on Benacre in the nursery (3.35). He is likely to get the run of the race and his main danger Eminency is not certain to stay as strongly.
However, it's safest to put at least a couple in the other handicaps and the opening race for jump jockeys (1.50) may be the hardest of all.
The unexposed three-year-olds down at the bottom of the weights might just be able to improve past the older horses and so I would stick in Stormbreaker, who is consistent, and Planet Legend, who can improve for the step up to 2m for the first time.
In the William Hill Handicap (3.00), last year's winner Spanish Starseems sure to go well again. He has to go in alongside Dora Penny, who is a winning machine and looked better than ever at Ffos Las last time.
The best race and most competitive race on the card is the Inkerman London Handicap (4.45) and all eyes will be on the returning hurdlers Goshen and Tritonic. I would imagine they have bigger fish to fry in the coming months and so this might be best left to the two in-form handicappers Pride Of Priory and Saratoga Gold.
As for the two-year-old maidens, Rathgar (4.10) ran well at the track last time and should hit the frame for the in-form Mick Channon team, while Many Rivers exceeded expectations on her debut and must go well on that evidence in the William Hill/British EBF Restricted Novice Stakes (2.25).
