The Punt Acca: Liam Headd's three horse racing tips on Wednesday afternoon

Three horses to add to a treble on Wednesday . . .

Hitman Fred (1.45 Catterick)

With the exception of a disappointing performance in a handicap chase at Cartmel in May, Hitman Fred has been firing on all cylinders recently and has enough ability to score again. The ten-year-old has won five of his nine starts over fences and has proved that he stays over this extended distance. Although he only edged out the runner-up by half a length last time out, he looked comfortable and recorded a Racing Post Rating of 116, just two less than his career best when he ended the summer with a fine win at Perth.

Howlingmadmurdock (2.15 Catterick)

He looked an impressive winner on his hurdles debut at Plumpton before Christmas, and he'll certainly come on for that run which was his first start for Tom Lacey. Before that, he eased to success in a Fontwell bumper for Anthony Honeyball. He's on a slight step up in trip here, but he is related to family who have won over this distance before and his new trainer is operating at a 21 per cent strike-rate in the las fortnight, so he should go close.

Git Maker (3.45 Catterick)

Jamie Snowden has enjoyed plenty of success with his seven-year-old and he has a good opportunity to land more here. Git Maker has won four of his seven career starts and has only finished outside the top three on one occasion. He demonstrated fantastic stamina when winning over course and distance last time out on what was his first victory over fences. He was a useful player over hurdles, but he has taken his jumping to another level and he should be too strong for the opposition.
