Goffs UK has unveiled the highly anticipated entries for this year's Premier Yearling Sale, which features 423 lots and takes place on the revised dates of September 1 and 2.

The Premier Sale has been a notable source of Group 1 winners, with the likes of Advertise, Barney Roy, Harry Angel, Laurens, Olympic Glory and Quiet Reflection among the recent celebrity graduates.

This year has seen further top-level success for the Premier Sale with Golden Horde landing the Commonwealth Cup, while last year's graduates include the Group 2-winning juveniles Supremacy, The Lir Jet and Ventura Tormenta, along with other exciting two-year-olds such as Cairn Gorm, Fev Rover and Method.

Among the standouts on pedigree are:

  • Lot 31 - an Almanzor colt out of the Listed-placed Vadsariya from a deep Aga Khan family
  • 48 - a Showcasing half-sister to the Group 3-placed Scarlet Dragon
  • 166 - a son of Caravaggio and the Group 2 winner and Group 1-placed Danehurst
  • 170 - a No Nay Never filly out of the Group 3 scorer Dingle View
  • 195 - a Kodiac filly out of a half-sister to the Group 1 winner and sire Equiano
  • 206 - a daughter of Invincible Spirit and the Nassau Stakes scorer Favourable Terms
  • 313 - a Starspangledbanner half-brother to Ventura Tormenta, winner of the Group 2 Prix Robert Papin
  • 322 - a Cotai Glory half-sister to the four-time Group 2-winning sprinter A'Ali
  • 361- a Siyouni filly out of an Oasis Dream half-sister to Breeders' Cup heroine Queen's Trust
  • 423 - a Dark Angel brother to Yafta, a Group 3 winner descending from celebrated producer Swiss Lake

The past two renewals of the Premier Sale have seen record prices set. In 2018 Sackville Donald went to £380,000 for the Gleneagles colt Mahanakhon Power, while last year saw Coolmore snap up Admiral Nelson, a son of Kingman, for £440,000.

Commenting on the release of the Premier Sale catalogue, Goffs UK managing director Tim Kent said: "It has been a very strong year for the Premier Sale on the track and once again it has proved its ability to produce horses of the highest calibre with A'Ali and particularly Golden Horde.

"Both elite two-year-olds last year, they have progressed in their three-year-old season to hold strong stallion credentials and look set to follow other top graduates such as Advertise and Harry Angel who have recently secured their place at leading studs in the same way as the likes of Acclamation, Dark Angel, Wootton Bassett, etc.

"Seeing these results is very exciting for the sale and the host of top two-year-olds we have this year, headlined by the likes of Cairn Gorm, Method, Supremacy, The Lir Jet and Ventura Tormenta, certainly puts it in a strong position for the latter half of the season and their Classic season next year.

"We have some outstanding yearlings catalogued this year, including siblings to some of our star performers, and we have plenty to look forward to over the coming weeks with a number of graduates lining up in Group 1 races.

"We will be busy in the build-up marketing this catalogue to our ever-growing global audience and we look forward to welcoming everyone to Doncaster on September 1 and 2, when we will be strictly following the updated protocols to ensure that we comply with the UK government's latest Covid guidelines."

Due to Covid-19, the Silver Sale has moved from its traditional date and will be merged with the Doncaster Autumn Sale on October 21 and 22.
