1. Juddmonte blue hen has remarkable record in Filly and Mare Turf

One mare has exerted an extraordinary influence in the showpiece turf contest for females at the Breeders' Cup meeting. Hasili, produced five Group/Grade 1 winners for Juddmonte, including Banks Hill and Intercontinental, who scored in the 2001 and 2005 renewals of the Filly and Mare Turf. Her son Dansili, who did not manage a top-level win but was placed six times in those races including the Breeders' Cup Mile, has now sired two winners of the race – Dank in 2013 and Queen's Trust on Saturday.

For good measure, Banks Hill also finished second in the 2002 Filly and Mare Turf and is the dam of Romantica, runner-up to Dank in the race. Another of Hasili's star daughters, Heat Haze, was a close fourth to Islington in the race in 2003.
