Success of On The Gallops venture is music to the ears of the Glastonburys
The owner-breeders have four horses in training and three broodmares
The saying goes that you cannot beat a good mare, and the purchase of Wychwoods Legend, a daughter of the phenomenal Midnight Legend, has lifted Kevin and Anne Glastonbury to some giddy heights of success on the racecourse and in breeding.
The pair oversee the On The Gallops Racing and Breeding Club, a venture open to their friends and family, as Kevin explains, saying: "I'd always had an interest in horses, I had bits and pieces in point-to-pointers going back a long time ago, but we never had anything good.
"One day I said if I had some money I'd buy something decent, and I sold my scaffolding company and I bought a Midnight Legend mare [Wychwoods Legend] who went on to win half a dozen times and picked up some black type in a Listed hurdle.
